Is your iTunes top 10 embarrassing?
Posted on: 26 September 2009
I've noticed a trend amongst several people's iTunes libraries. Now this is just a fleeting thought, I haven't done any extensive research. But it seems the top 10 songs most played in peoples music libraries tends to be quite embarrassing. Your actual favourite songs probably tend to vary over time and, for me at least, the top 10 highest played rarely seems to reflect this.
Here's mine. And here's a rundown:
- Famous Last Words
Embarrassing: Quite.
Reason: Left it playing on repeat one night last year and it's still top. I didn't have the heart to reset the play count. After all, I do quite like it. - About You Now
Embarrassing: Yes.
Reason: Such a bloody catchy song. I think it's got here for memory sake. Definitely a song with good memories attached. - Now We Are Free
Embarrassing: Not really.
Reason: Love the film, powerful song. No problems here. - When Did Your Heart Go Missing
Embarrassing: A little.
Reason: I'm not quite sure. It's a good song. The girlfriend may have a little to do with this high play count. Her play count for this is at least 5 times mine. - Fans
Embarassing: Hell no.
Reason: Favourite Kings of Leon song. Just such a tune. - Here (In Your Arms)
Embarrassing: Oh yes.
Reason: Got up there a few years ago when I got the song and hasn't left since. Again, memories' sake. - Woke Up New
Embarrassing: Not really.
Reason: I like the song. Consistently played it since I got it really. - Generator
Embarrassing: Not really.
Reason: Loved the song when it came out. And it stuck around. - Helena (So Long & Goodnight)
Embarrassing: Having 2 songs by My Chemical Romance in your top 10 isn't something to be proud of.
Reason: Love the song. Not a huge fan of the band but I'm a sucker for a few of their hits. - How To Save a Life
Embarrassing: Oh dear.
Reason: Yes, alright... it's there. I liked the song when it came out and it's on the highly played Scrubs playlist.
There you have it. I like talking about music. Share yours... if you dare.
P.S. There's a new, prettier keywords page.
